The Brief

Clinique's brief was for a piece that would survive both the counter-event run and the staff carry — a calico double-handle conference tote in natural, with a black screen-printed Clinique mark in the standard centre position. Generous proportions for the launch giveaway, restrained finish for the counter aesthetic. Produced in volume for the brand's wholesale and salon channel.

The Approach

Our approach drew on three decades of branded merchandise production. With the brand creative supplied by Clinique (or their agency), we specified the substrate to match the brand's tactile signature — counter · launch giveaway · salon channel — then matched the decoration technique to the substrate (not the other way around, which is where most beauty branded merchandise programmes go wrong). Print colours were proofed to the brand's reference palette. Packaging was specified in parallel with the product itself, because in the beauty & wellness category the unboxing IS the brand encounter. Every component was sourced through Sense2's audited supply chain so the programme could ship into any beauty & wellness environment without procurement friction.

The Outcome

The finished Clinique programme reads exactly as Clinique reads in market — considered, brand-led, on-tone.
